Salman Khan dressed as a soldier might give the impression that Heroes is a war film. But the movie’s director Samir Karnik says it is not.
Karnik, who directed the Aishwarya Rai – Vivek Oberoi starrer Kyon, Ho Gaya Na and Bobby Deol -starrer Nanhe Jaisalmer , says ‘Heroes’ is a road trip movie about two guys who meet several extraordinary characters while traveling through India.
“They travel 1000 miles to meet their destiny. The premise about the film is that all of us have a hero inside us. It is only experience that makes us realise it.”
“The Army background is just symbolic about the individuals, but the movie has no focus on war like Border or LoC Kargil “, he said.
Speaking about the film’s genre, Karnik said: “I don’t think that I would want to focus on a particular genre of film. Any exciting story that is good enough to make a film on is preferred.”
‘Heroes’ features a host of Bollywood stars. It has Salman, Preity Zinta , Sohail Khan , Vatsal Seth, Mithun Chakraborty , Sunny Deol , Bobby Deol , Riya Sen and Amrita Arora . The film, produced by Vikas Kapoor who is also Salman’s business manager, releases on October 24.
