Anita Raj To Make Her Comeback In CDKC

It’s the year of the comeback for the former glam women of the industry. After Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit returned to the silver screen this year, actress Anita Raj has decided to follow suit. And reportedly, the actress has already finished shooting for her comeback venture, Char Din Ki Chandni, directed by Samir Karnik.

A source close to the actress revealed that Anita essays a queen in the film, which goes on floors in January 2012. Apparently, the actress, who last starred in the 2007 film Thodi Life Thoda Magic, wanted to wait for the right role to come along, claimed the source.

The source explained, “Anita was content looking after her husband Sunil Hingorani and son. She was in no rush to be in the limelight. But then, Samir convinced her to give her career another shot. ”

When contacted, Anita told Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, I will be seen on the silver-screen again, this January, after a long gap. My movie Char Din Ki Chandni is releasing in January.” When asked why she took this long to return to the silver screen, the actress replied, “Where had I disappeared? Nowhere! I was right here. Role bhi to honi chahiye. I made a comeback in 2007 in the film Thodi Life Thoda Magic. But, not many people watched it, so I decided to wait for the right role to come along.”

Kangana All Set For Her Upcoming Project With Samir Karnik

After mastering all negative shades, Kangana Ranaut is all set to try out lighter shades in her forthcoming film VAADA RAHA. The actor in a chit chat with our correspondent.

What’s Vaada Raha all about?
VAADA RAHA is a film by Next Gen and Top Angle Productions. It is produced and directed by Samir Karnik. I play the love-interest of Bobby Deol. He plays a doctor who is researching on cancer. He is very positive and fun-loving person. But, an incident occurs in his life which changes the flow. It is very emotional film. And I am sure audience will love it.

This is the first time you are working with Director Samir Karnik and actor Bobby Deol. How was it working with them?
As I said, Samir Karnik has made a beautiful movie and it was immensely great working with him. Bobby is a very humble co-actor. We make a nice-pair.

Subhash K Ja

While the Kyon Ho Gaya Na director’s biggie project Mera Bharat Mahaan with Preity and Salman is being put together, Samir Karnik has decided to do a quirky quickie, a kind of follow-up to his ready-for-release Nanhe Jaisalmer (now entitled Nanhe).

Entitled Roshan, the new Karnik project brings together the rapidly- rising Kangana Ranaut with her Shakalaka Boom Boom co-star Bobby Deol. Bobby, of course is now a favourite of Karnik. The actor, who plays himself in Nanhe, just can’t stop praising the director, the film and his young co-star Dwij Yadav who plays the title role.

In an intriguing reprise of his earlier film, Karnik again brings together Bobby and his Nanhe co-star Dwij in Roshan, with Kangana thrown in for good measure. According to sources, Bobby who played actor Bobby Deol in Nanhe, plays a doctor in Roshan. Both the films are designed as intimate arthouse products meant to be carried to film festivals. According to a source, Nanhe and now Roshan are Bobby’s passport to the festival circuit.

To be produced by Eros Entertainment Roshan’s cinematography will be done by the inimitable Binod Pradhan. It starts shooting on 6 May.

Samir Karnik To Direct Chaar Din Ki Chandni

Samir Karnik, is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter of Hindi movies. Karnik made his directorial debut with the film Kyun! Ho Gaya Na… in 2004 starring Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi. He produced and directed the film Heroes in 2008. He has also written the story and dialogues of some of his movies.

Referring to “CDKC” as a sitcom, Samir says the film is realistic in approach and the audience will love it for its “simplicity” and “earthiness”.

Further, the title track of the 1989 release “Chandni” is another high point of the film, says Samir. “The moment I got the title and since the girl’s name in the film is Chandni, what better song than have “O meri Chandni”? It brings a sense of recall and fits the situation,” says the producer-director.

The film has a four-day wedding as a very important sequence with the film’s heroine visiting the house of the hero during the celebrations without disclosing her identity to anybody except for the hero and his mother. “I don’t deny that Chandni is the female Raj of “Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge”,” chuckles Samir, who has pushed forward the release of his film by a day, “since it is full moon and Holi on March 8″, he says.

And Samir doesn’t tire talking about his cast, especially the lead pair. “I was very happy with Kulraj’s (Randhawa) performance in “Yamla…”, hence I wanted to repeat her. Tusshar (Kapoor) is the best and one of the most hardworking actors I have ever worked with. Then Anita Raaj and Chandrachur Singh will be seen after a long hiatus on the big screen,” says an excited Samir.

‘Heroes’ is not a war movie: Samir Karnik

Salman Khan dressed as a soldier might give the impression that Heroes is a war film. But the movie’s director Samir Karnik says it is not.

Karnik, who directed the Aishwarya RaiVivek Oberoi starrer Kyon, Ho Gaya Na and Bobby Deol -starrer Nanhe Jaisalmer , says ‘Heroes’ is a road trip movie about two guys who meet several extraordinary characters while traveling through India.

“They travel 1000 miles to meet their destiny. The premise about the film is that all of us have a hero inside us. It is only experience that makes us realise it.”
“The Army background is just symbolic about the individuals, but the movie has no focus on war like Border or LoC Kargil “, he said.

Speaking about the film’s genre, Karnik said: “I don’t think that I would want to focus on a particular genre of film. Any exciting story that is good enough to make a film on is preferred.”

‘Heroes’ features a host of Bollywood stars. It has Salman, Preity Zinta , Sohail Khan , Vatsal Seth, Mithun Chakraborty , Sunny Deol , Bobby Deol , Riya Sen and Amrita Arora . The film, produced by Vikas Kapoor who is also Salman’s business manager, releases on October 24.
