Biography
Samir Karnik, a film director, producer and screen writer of Hindi feature films, made his directorial debut in the year 2004 with the film, Kyun Ho Gaya Na. His other films that were the result of his creative excellence are Heroes, Nanhe Jaisalmer, Vaada Raha, Yamla Pagla Deewana and Chaar Din ki Chandni.
He has come a long way in the film industry, right from assisting ace director Vidhu Vinod Chopra in Kareeb to shooting several documentary films in Tanzania to working as a station manager in a Dar- es- Salaam television station to directing various television commercials for the African region.
Samir Karnik returned to Mumbai in the year 2002 to start his production house Top Angle Productions. The idea behind setting up his production house was to entertain the audience with top quality cinema. With Nanhe Jaisalmer winning an award at The Chicago Film Festival and making an entry into The Cannes Film Festival, to the script of Heroes making its way to The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences - The Oscars Library to Yamla Pagla Deewana winning the heart of audience with his romantic comedy, Samir has tasted both critical acclaim and commercial success.
